The Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is the research lab for Lockheed Martin Space. We are searching for a Heliophysics Software Engineer to join our exceptional team. In this role you will work with science staff to maintain and develop Heliophysics data systems. Some of your day to day responsibilities will include:
• Updating and integrating existing web services with the external NASA heliophysics data environment
• Refreshing existing databases to include new capabilities
• Updating web portal to incorporate new web tools and standards
• Maintaining heritage software infrastructure
You would typically have a Bachelors degree and 2+ years of professional experience, or a Masters degree.

• Demonstrated experience with Java programming

• US Citizenship or Green Card/Permanent Resident status
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix
• Scripting languages including Python and IDL
• Apache HTTP server and Tomcat
• Heliophysics data systems including SolarSoft
• Image processing and physics background

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
